Hi, Jason Thayer here! well Arri did her first Author's Jab post, where she talked about the origin of our novel. So what will I talk about? How I came up with the heroine, Sophia.
One thing I have always been fascinated by in the Bible is the Virgin Mary. What made her so special? Before I go any further, I should tell you that I am a Roman Catholic. We believe that Mary was free from original sin from birth and passed this on to Jesus.
One question that I have often pondered over is what happened to Mary after Jesus was crucified. We know that John the Evangelist (who was supposed to represent us in that scene) took her in (this scene symbolizes Mary becoming the Mother of the Church) and that she was present at the outpouring of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. But beyond that? Mary is the mother of the Church, which the reason Catholics pray to Mary for intercession (note to Protestants, do not debate me here about this! If you wish to debate POLITELY, I would rather you take it to private message or Facebook). This led to my creation of Sophia. I knew that my fellowship would need someone to be that mother, and this was Sophia.
